If you want to learn to play the mandolin like Bill
Monroe, here's your opportunity to study it first
hand from the masters.
Heads up mandolin enthusiasts, the Bill Monroe-Style
Mandolin Camp is about to begin. Hosted by the
International Bluegrass Music Museum, this marks the
4th year for the event. There are still a few
openings, but don't delay, the event has sold out in
each of the previous years.
The museum's goal in hosting the camp is to preserve the unique, historic performance art of Bill Monroe, by teaching his style of mandolin playing and songwriting to a new generation of players. The event runs September 11-13, 2009
This year's instructors include: Mike Compton (pictured), Dr. Richard Brown, Skip Gorman, Jody Stecher, Tim O'Brien, Butch Waller. For complete details visit the IBMM Website.
