Park The Car & Learn To Pick
05/31/2008 11:57
Now that gas is topping $4.00 per gallon in many
locations, more and more people are staying home to
barbecue, organize the garage and work on their
picking. But we found a great way for pickers to hone
their skills by hanging out with the best in the
business for much less than you might think.
Imagine learning from Blue Highway's Tim Stafford, Banjo great Bill Evans, the NBB's Mike Compton, Mark Schatz, Fletcher Bright, or award winning guitarist Jim Hurst.
NashCamp gets underway July 27th and is open to adults and teens who have a year’s experience playing the mandolin, guitar, banjo, fiddle, bass or harmony singing.
In this fun and intensive workshop, students choose their instrument for small group instruction and jamming. Afternoons bring elective classes and Band Lab, where students are coached for the camper concert at the world famous Station Inn. Hey, how do you get to the Opry? Practice, practice, practice (plus spend a week at NashCamp, of course).
NashCamp’s gourmet meals are catered by the Mad Platter Restaurant of Nashville; comfortable, air-conditioned lodging is provided at the Drouillard House, a restored Victorian-era mansion surrounded by newly constructed log cabins. All classes, meals, accommodations, and nightly concerts are included.
