Singer, songwriter and bluegrass entertainer, Jimbo Whaley announces the release of a Live Performance CD and DVD titled, An Evening with Jimbo Whaley and Friends that was captured during a concert at the Smith Family Theater in Pigeon Forge, TN in March.  The official release is scheduled for May 19, 2007 where he will perform with his band, Greenbrier at the Bloomin’ BBQ & Bluegrass Festival in Sevierville, TN.

Whaley enthusiastically stated, “I’ve always wanted to get a good recording of a live show. We have always been able to create an energy with the audience that we could never seem to re-create in the studio. We certainly had a great time with this performance.  I hope the audience enjoys listening and watching as much as we did playing and singing.”

Whaley provided lead vocals and guitar along with: Roger Helton (banjo, guitar, baritone vocals); Scott Carris (upright bass);  Darrell Webb (mandolin, tenor vocals);  Trey Hensley (lead guitar);  Aaron Till (fiddle); Ray Ball (lead vocal on “2 Coats”);  Jim Whaley (bass vocals);  Andrew Whaley (vocals); Barbara McClure  (vocals);  Mandy Sandlin (vocals);  Turner Whaley (lead vocals on “M.R.’s Rolling Store”).  WDVX Radio personality, Freddy Smith was the emcee for the show.

The CD and DVD include numerous original songs by Whaley.  Also included are: Bill Monroe’s Shenandoah Breakdown; Summer of 69 by Brian Adams and Jim Vallance;  Don’t Stop Believin' by Perry, Schon, Cain; and Gone, Gone  Gone  by Reggie Matte.
